On Day 2 of the second Test in Delhi, India further solidified their dominance over West Indies with commanding batting and incisive spin bowling. After resuming the day with a strong platform, the hosts pushed to a massive first-innings total before turning to bowl with all guns blazing.

At the start of play, Yashasvi Jaiswal added just a couple more runs before being run out for an imposing 175, ending a resilient and high-quality knock that fell just short of a double century. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill continued to anchor the innings, ultimately remaining unbeaten on 129 as India declared at 518 for 5 to put immense pressure on the visitors.

In reply, India’s spin attack, led by Ravindra Jadeja, sliced through the West Indies lineup. Jadeja claimed three crucial wickets, removing key batters including Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Roston Chase, and Alick Athanaze. The visitors reached 140 for 4 by stumps, with Shai Hope unbeaten on 31 and Tevin Imlach on 14. A highlight moment in the field saw B Sai Sudharsan take a reflex catch off a sweep shot that struck his helmet grille before lodging into his hands.

With the pitch offering increasing turn and the opposition already deep in trouble, India now appear poised to enforce a follow-on and wrap up the match—eyeing a 2-0 series sweep.
