Mumbai, August 24, 2026: Yash is preparing for one of the most closely watched Indian film releases of the year, with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups witnessing strong advance-booking momentum ahead of its theatrical arrival on August 26.

Demand has become particularly visible in Mumbai, where cinemas have scheduled screenings beginning as early as 6 AM, while late-night shows have also been added to accommodate audiences.

Some premium tickets in Mumbai have reportedly been priced as high as ₹2,250, demonstrating the scale of anticipation surrounding Yash’s return to the big screen.

₹32 Crore Before Release

The film’s advance-booking numbers have added to the excitement.

As of Monday, Toxic had reportedly generated approximately ₹32.52 crore in advance bookings when blocked seats were included, with more than six lakh tickets booked ahead of release.

The numbers underline Yash’s transformation into a genuine pan-India box-office force following the phenomenal success of the KGF franchise.

While Toxic has generated impressive pre-release business, its advance numbers were still reported to be behind the extraordinary benchmark established by KGF: Chapter 2.

Expectations Are Enormous

The biggest challenge facing Toxic may be the expectations created by Yash’s previous success.

After KGF, Yash is no longer viewed solely as a Kannada cinema star. His following extends across major Indian film markets, making Toxic a significant test of whether his box-office appeal can carry into a completely different cinematic franchise.

The movie has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, while aspects of its promotional material have also generated debate. Yash has responded to concerns surrounding the film by indicating that audiences should judge the story in its complete context rather than solely through trailers and promotional footage.

Mumbai Signals the Hype

For the Hindi market, Mumbai’s unusual show timings are perhaps the clearest indicator of the film’s current momentum.

Early-morning screenings have become increasingly associated with major event films in India, particularly projects backed by actors with passionate fan bases.

The real test, however, begins after the first screenings.

Advance bookings can deliver a huge opening weekend, but sustained box-office performance ultimately depends on audience response and word of mouth.

With screenings stretching from early morning until close to midnight and advance sales already running into crores, Toxic has successfully achieved the first objective of any major theatrical release: turning its opening into an event.

All eyes now turn to August 26.
